Big Brother’s Aaryn Gries Calls Out Evander Holyfield for Saying That Being Gay Is a Handicap

As predicted, after Celebrity Big Big Brother UK star Evander Holyfield shared his anti-gay views on Sunday night’s ep, the boxer is receiving a lot of criticism across the board (he’s even been called out by Boy George!). But one particularly vocal critic may surprise you: fellow embattled Big Brother star (US version) Aaryn Gries. We know what you’re thinking.. pot, meet kettle.

The controversial blonde ruffled more than a few feathers in the house — and offended America as a whole — with her racist and homophobic comments on the most recent season of the reality show. But while Aaryn may have mocked African Americans and Asians and called some people “queer,” she says that what Evander did — likening homosexuality to a curable handicap — is much worse.

"I know I said mean things, but at least I'm not ignorant enough to think that homosexuality is treatable,” she asserts to TMZ. “Seeing homosexuality as a sickness is outdated."

While Aaryn has the right to express her opinions, it is interesting that this is what she’s choosing to speak out on, especially in the wake of her actions just a few months back. Unless she’s matured immensely in this short period of time, it’s unlikely that the girl who uses “queer” to offend a gay person should throw stones at someone for being “outdated” or “ignorant.”

What do you think of Aaryn getting involved in this cultural conversation? Sound off below.
