ABC Announces Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Scheduling — Mark Your Calendars!

Clear your Thursday night schedules, Grey's Anatomy fans: ABC has announced the broadcast schedule for Season 10, as TVLine reports, and it features non-stop action for months at a time.

The good news: You'll get fewer reruns between new episodes, as the season will air in two (mostly) uninterrupted sets of 12 episodes. The bad news: You'll have to survive without Grey's for two months between those sets of 12 — during the show's winter hiatus.

The season will premiere with a two-hour episode on September 26, airing a new installment every Thursday unless preempted by a holiday or a special event.

Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday, per usual, and will most likely preempt an episode that night (since we'll all be on the couch, relishing in tryptophan-induced lethargy). So we expect the mid-season finale to air on December 19.

Then — after two long, cold months of Grey's-lessness — the show will return again on February 27. Luckily, no major holiday falls on a Thursday for the spring 2014 TV season, so we imagine the season will run straight through its second half, with the finale airing May 15.

ABC is scheduling other shows along the same lines: Scandal, Once Upon a Time, Nashville, and Revenge will all have seasons split in two batches.

Glad to know we'll get regular appointments at Grey Sloan Memorial come September!
