Killer Women isn't killing it, folks.
The Hollywood Reporter states that ABC is dropping the new drama like it's (not) hot, curtailing its new season so that it ends two weeks early — ending with its sixth episode on February 18 instead of its eighth on March 4 — after the show pulled in fewer than 4 million viewers for each of its first two installments.
The show — an adaptation of the Argentine crime drama Mujeres Asesinas — focuses on Molly Parker (played by Battlestar Galactica vet Tricia Helfer): a former beauty queen, recent divorcee, and current Texas Ranger.
The cast also includes Marc Blucas, Alex Fernandez, Marta Milans, and Michael Trucco. Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara is one of the executive producers.
In addition to not attracting an audience, the show also failed to win over many critics. THR's Tim Goodman writes, "This is a really bad show. It's a show so bad that if it was smart enough to be a spoof, it would be genius. But it's not."
As the show ends early, its timeslot replacement — a crime-solving drama called Mind Games — moves up a couple weeks accordingly, premiering on February 25 instead of March 11.
Granted, ABC hasn't officially canceled Killer Women, but the writing is on the wall. Time to ride off into the sunset, Molly Parker.
