Chris Harrison can breathe a sigh of relief, now, and so can we. No, there hasn’t been an official — or even covert — announcement that Andi Dorfman’s Season 10 of The Bachelorette ended with an “I love you” and a proposal from one of her gorgeous men. And no, Juan Pablo Galavis didn’t send the host of 28 seasons (plus three Bachelor Pads) a handwritten apology for everything he put him through. But Chris does still have a job!
TVLine announced today that ABC has officially renewed The Bachelor for a — how is this possible — 19th season! Of course we aren’t surprised that the hit reality show will return once again to bring us all the tears and joys for another man’s journey.
Was it possible that this wouldn’t happen? In some ways, maybe yes. Juan Pablo’s season had some of the lowest lows of all time in show ratings, part of which is due to its timeslot opposite NBC ratings darling The Voice. But part of the trouble can also be attributed to the rough goings of a season with a lead who genuinely turned off a big portion of America with his antics.
All smacktalk aside, we really Juanted another season to wash ourselves of the last memory. We’re so glad that The Bachelor will be back, likely in the first week of January, as tradition has become. But in the meantime, we’re 100 percent focused on Andi’s Bachelorette season, which kicks off on May 19, and on Bachelor in Paradise, which will come to us the first week of August.
