Grey’s Anatomy: ABC to Re-Air Season 3 Finale Thursday Before Burke’s Return

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. Yes, you will be seeing a 2007 episode of Grey's Anatomy this Thursday, May 1. Yes, it is currently 2014.

Variety reports ABC will be re-airing the show's Season 3 finale at 8 p.m. before the newest Season 10 episode airs at 9 p.m. — and for a very good reason.

Season 10, Episode 22 ("We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together") sees the return of Burke, who was last seen ditching Cristina (Sandra Oh) at the altar in — you guessed it! — Season 3, Episode 25 ("Didn't We Almost Have It All").

But the blast from the past will also be a treat for longtime Grey's fans for other reasons. For example, George (T.R. Knight), Lexie (Chyler Leigh), Mark (Eric Dane), and Adele (Loretta Devine) will be alive! Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will be unmarried — and on the outs! Alex (Justin Chambers) will be romancing Ava/Rebecca (Elizabeth Reaser)! Addison (Kate Walsh) and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) will still be at the hospital! The hospital will be called Seattle Grace!

Meanwhile, fans new to the medical drama will be hella confused. To you newcomers, we say, just pretend this is a weird alternate reality in which Jackson's (Jesse Williams) shirtless hotness somehow doesn't exist.

Will you be tuning in an hour early for the retro episode this Thursday? Let us know in the comments below.
