The uber talented Chris Colfer (Kurt) has written a mega-successful series of children’s books called The Land of Stories, and the latest installment — The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning — is scheduled to be released on July 8. The 24-year-old author/actor has already announced a book tour and signed thousands (yes thousands!) of copies of the book, but we haven’t gotten a glimpse of his latest offering — until now!
Amazon has a peek inside A Grimm Warning, and in addition to reading several pages of the book, you can take a look at the acknowledgements section at the end, which lists all the people Chris would like to thank. In the first paragraph of the acknowledgements Chris expresses his gratitude towards those who helped publish the book, and by the second paragraph he gets a bit more personal.
“[I’d like to thank…] My parents, my sister, Grandma, Will, Ash…” he writes as the list goes on. Even though Chris didn’t use last names, we’re pretty sure that “Will” is none other than Will Sherrod, his boyfriend of over a year. Chris and Will keep their relationship out of the spotlight, so this published, public declaration of thanks is a pretty big deal for the adorable duo.
We’re also happy to report that there are some Glee related thank yous in there as well. “Ash” is likely Ashley Fink, who played Lauren Zizes in Seasons 2-4. Although Lauren isn’t on Glee anymore, she and Chris have remained close and are very good friends. Also getting a shoutout are “Dot and Bridgette” who we assume is Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste) and her wife, Bridgette Casteen.
And lastly, Chris also thanks “Whoopi,” who we can only assume is the legendary Whoopi Goldberg, who appeared as Carmen Tibideaux on the FOX dramedy.
Are you surprised by the people Chris chose to thank? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
