Glee Actress Confirms She’s Gone — For the Rest of Season 5!
We're doing our best to stay strong here, but it's no small feat. Sure, it's a happy time for Glee fans, as the show returns with a new episode on February 25. But the return is bittersweet, as at least one Glee star is leaving Season 5 for good — and others may soon do the same.
Glee's 100th episode will see the characters bidding farewell to the glee club, with Sue finally managing to eliminate the group. Glee will then focus on NYC-based storylines, rather than McKinley-based ones.
And the first confirmed casualty of that switch is mischievous Cheerio member Bree (Erinn Westbrook), who will not be seen for the rest of the season. On February 20, Erinn posts a throwback photo of one of the first times that she dressed as Bree.
"#TBT to one of my very first days in this uniform + pony!" Erinn captions the pic. "Who is going to miss Bree the rest of the season? Tell me some of your favorite Bree moments ;) #GLEE #Season5# TheBaddestBREE #LoveYouGuys #GLEEKS #XO."
So sad! Bree was always fun to watch, even when she was doing her best to mess with Marley (Melissa Benoist) and Jake's (Jacob Artist) heads. Plus, this news makes us wonder if the other not-yet-graduating McKinley characters — like Marley, Jake, Kitty (Becca Tobin), Unique (Alex Newell), and Ryder (Blake Jenner) — will be saying goodbye to the show as well. You may want to brace yourself.
Will you miss Bree? And do you think the other high school characters will depart as well?
