Seth Cohen is heading to Paris! OK, not exactly, but Adam Brody is, according to Amazon (via The Hollywood Reporter), which announced today that new series The Cosmopolitans is coming to the website’s streaming video, debuting later this year during pilot season — Amazon’s third in the mix of original content producers.
Besides our favorite former Orange County resident (fictionally, anyway), the new show also stars a mix of established actors and up-and-comers. Chloe Sevigny, Brit Shaun Evans, Dree Hemingway (yes, that Hemingway), Swede Freddy Asblom, Carrie MacLemore, and Italian Adriano Giannini round out the cast.
Why so many accents mixing together? Well, the show is about a group of expatriates living in Paris. The show has yet to be greenlit for a season, but word is that the half-hour dramedy is set to start shooting this week in the City of Lights (that’d be Paris, folks).
Although we can’t be sure yet what the relationships will be between the various characters — or if the show will even be picked up — we’re imagining something like a grown up version of L’Auberge Espagnole, but French. In fact, we’d like to urge writer/director Whit Stillman to immediately scrap whatever it is he already wrote, and create that show for us. Talk about Prime time! (Sorry, scrap that joke, too…)
