Adam Lambert Defends Miley Cyrus After Her MTV VMAs Performance

After Miley Cyrus incited tons of backlash after her nearly R-rated performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, Adam Lambert rose to the controversial pop star's defense on Twitter (as did all these other stars).

The 31-year-old American Idol alum tweeted on August 26 that he didn't understand all the Miley hate — and immediately received hate himself!

The Season 8 runner-up is no stranger to controversial performances. His salacious dance moves on the stage of the 2009 American Music Awards drew a fair share of controversy, though arguably not as much as Miley has courted this week.

He himself has been in the news recently after booking a recurring role on Season 5 of Glee and leaving RCA out of his refusal to do a covers album.
