Adam Lambert’s Advice to American Idol Runner-Up Kree Harrison — Interview

American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert knows what it is like to lose out on the big prize but still carve out a successful post-show career. In a press interview after the Season 12 finale, Adam shared what he would tell Kree Harrison about coming in second place and told us he’d be thrilled to have the chance to work with third-place finisher Angie Miller again.

What would your advice be to Kree?

I think when it gets down to the final few; you’ve showed what you can do to the audience, to millions of people every week. I think it’s a platform. I personally don’t think 1st, 2nd, 3rd is actually what it’s about. I think it’s about launching your career and everybody knows who Kree is now so here she goes.

Your performance with Angie was phenomenal.

Oh thank you. Oh she’s so good.

Would you perform with her again?

I would love to work with her more in the future. I was so excited when I found out that we were going to do a duet together and “Titanium” was actually her idea. I love the song. I remember when the song first came out; I was on Twitter like, check out ‘Titanium.’ I love Sia as well. So we got together and we decided to break it down and soften it up and make it about the lyric and the melody primarily and we had so much fun doing the harmony on it and letting our voices blend together. She’s so talented.

How excited were you to sing on stage with Jessie J?

Yeah I love Jessie J too. I met her once in passing and it was nice to see her again. The circumstances were a little calmer today during rehearsals so we got to visit a little bit. It was nice.

Would you ever shave your head like her?

I don’t think I could ever pull off the super short hair but I love her. I think she looks really fierce.
