Adam Levine’s First Band, Kara’s Flowers, Appeared on What ‘90s Drama?

It’s hard to believe at 34-year-old Adam Levine has a music career spanning two decades, but the Maroon 5 frontman got a headstart with his first band, Kara’s Flowers. The quartet, formed by Adam and three of the founding members of Maroon 5, scored their first recording contract in the mid-1990s and even performed as themselves in an episode of Beverly Hills 90210!

Curious to see how up The Voice fans are on their Maroon 5 history, we recently asked Viggle LIVE! users if they knew which teen drama marked the telegenic singer’s TV debut. More than half (55 percent) got it right. They must have spent a lot of time in the ‘90s with the gang at the Peach Pit.

Thirty-four percent, however selected My So-Called Life as their response. Perhaps they thought Kara’s Flowers opened for Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto) and his band, Frozen Embryos. Only 10 percent thought the short-lived series Malibu Shores was the showcase for the band’s not-so-hit single “Soap Disco”.

Kara’s Flowers may not have made it much further than playing for the fictional kids at West Beverly, but after adding guitarist James Valentine to the lineup and changing their name, they seem to have done alright for themselves!
