The contest asked participants to submit reasons their mom is special. For every entry received, makeup company Wet ‘n Wild, which co-sponsored the contest with Walgreens, donated one dollar to the foundation. On Mother’s Day, three finalists were selected.
We had a chance to ask Adrienne Maloof about the contest and her fresh start as single mother. Here’s what she told us:
Wetpaint Entertainment: How’d you get involved with the contest?
Adrienne Maloof: First of all, I’ve known Noreen for a long time. She’s a lovely person and has done so much for this great cause. And the grand prize for the contest is makeup, so it was a good fit for me! Whenever they’re going through tough times, I think women just want to look pretty and feel special.
Speaking of tough times, you’re recently divorced. How are you handling it?
You know, it’s made me really appreciate all the single moms out there. It’s so hard. Single moms really do need to stick together.
How did you spend your first Mother’s Day as a single mom?
I have a fab mom who spent the day with us and the boys made me special gifts at school that they gave me. They wouldn’t show them to me until Mother’s Day which was very sweet.
No. I’m looking at this as a new beginning. Bravo was a real platform but I want to move forward in a new direction. And, as always, my kids come first.
