Former Real Housewives of New York Star Alex McCord Files $100M Suit
Hell hath no fury like a Housewife scorned — especially when it involves a business venture!
According to TMZ, former Real Housewives of New York star Alex McCord and her husband Simon van Kempen just filed a $100 million lawsuit against Alex’s former business partner, Vivian Douek, with whom she began the reality star’s luxury line of bed and bath linens, Aluxe Home. Alex’s claim states that while their business was once successful, Vivian went behind her back and started a competing business, taking their customers with her.
To add insult to injury, Alex also claims Vivian’s company uses the same Egyptian manufacturing company, Nile Textile Industries, which specializes in high thread count, luxury cotton bedding. As a result of the designer imposter linens, the McCords say they lost out on $100 million in sales in that last year, thus the huge amount of damages they’re seeking in their suit.
Though TMZ does not say whether Aluxe Home is out of business, the company seems put to bed for all intents and purposes. The official website’s URL is currently a dead link, while the company’s Twitter and Facebook presences have been dormant since late 2012. Meanwhile, Alex’s kitchen gadget venture, The Kind Kitchen, appears to be going strong.
