Ali Fedotowsky Talks Brandon Andreen and Declaring Love to Strangers

We’ve all been there: you meet someone (or, um, see them in a copy of J-14) and decide that he is your true love. But one thing we wish we could’ve said to Brandon Andreen before he declared his undying commitment to guard and protect Desiree Hartsock? You should probably chill out on the L word... You know, at least until you spend more than five minutes alone with her.

But while we were busy calming our crawling skin, Season 6 Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky took a more learned view on the issue of saying “I love you” so quickly. In her latest E! Bachelorette blog, Ali addresses the butterfly in the room, saying “Even if Brandon really did love Desiree, it was too soon to tell her!”

Ya don’t say. But even though it felt insane to us, Ali is a little calmer than we are when it comes on the timing of those three little words. “In real life, there's no such thing as too soon (I believe in love at first sight!),” the newly coupled up TV presenter explains. (Hey Ali, can you tell that to our exes?) She continues, “but on a show like this, it's overwhelming.”

The difference between real life and reality? The number of guys you’re simultaneously dating (presumably. We don’t know your life.) “It's unfortunate, but you have to give the Bachelorette time to explore her feelings for all the guys,” Ali reflects, “and Brandon just jumped in too deep, too soon.”

Hmm, how would she know? Anyone who watched Season 6 of The Bachelorette probably had horrific flashbacks of rogue tattoo-getting adventures and unaccompanied singing. Ali certainly did. “He kind of reminded me of Kasey [Kahl] from my season. I was expecting him to break out in song! Ha! Desiree did the right thing to send him home now before his feelings grew even stronger.”

Hear that Brando? While you might have had your little wings crushed by a hammer in the moment, time heals all wounds, and Des totally did you a favor. We’re sure that somewhere, there’s a girl just dying for you to declare love and not abandon her. Does anyone have Vienna Girardi’s number?
