AMC Orders All-Star Celebrity Bowling With Talking Dead Host Chris Hardwick

We can’t get enough of Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, and it looks like AMC can’t either!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, AMC announced last week that they ordered a television version of Chris’ web-series, All-Star Celebrity Bowling. AMC ordered eight episodes of the series, which is set to be hosted by Randy and Jason Sklar and will feature “different casts of celebrities facing off on the lanes for charity each week.” In other words, famous people bowling for a cause. The premiere episode keeps it all within the AMC family, pitting Jon Hamm and the Mad Men cast against Chris and his Nerdist team.

All-Star Celebrity Bowling is one of three unscripted series the network ordered. Also on deck is an untitled wrestling project from Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, which will follow him in his new job as creative director of Chicago-based wrestling league Resistance Pro, and Visionaries (working title), a “workplace docu-series about the employees of Hollywood prop and set design outfit Vision Scenery.”

AMC, which has given us several scripted hits over the last few years — think The Walking Dead, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad — is excited about branching out into more non-scripted programing. “These three new series represent AMC’s continuing push to find truly original ideas and explore fascinating worlds,” AMC Senior VP of Unscripted Programming Eliot Goldberg told THR. “We are thrilled to continue our incredible partnership with Chris Hardwick, host of our most successful unscripted series, Talking Dead, and with Left/Right, one of the most innovative producers in the business. We can’t wait to bring these three extremely entertaining series to viewers next year.”

There’s no doubt that AMC has had great success with scripted television shows, but will you be checking out their unscripted offerings as well? Tell us what you think below!
