Allen Iverson’s Ex-Wife Accuses Him of Abducting Their Five Kids

Update: Tawanna and Allen presented their arguments in court and, we've got to say, her story doesn't hold a whole lot of weight. Tawanna admitted that she didn't pick up her kids because they were nearly an hour's drive from where she was and she wasn't in the mood to make the trip. Allen added that his hotel room had an open-door policy for his ex, and that she was welcome to come get the kids whenever she wanted. The judge trying the case ruled in Allen's favor, so the hoops star won't be serving any jail time for his weekend with the kids, who have been returned to their mother.

TMZ reports that the ex-wife of former NBA basketball star Allen Iverson has been accused of abducting his own children, and she wants the court to force Allen to give them back.

Filing legal documentation today, Tawanna Iverson claims that Allen asked for her permission to take their five kids — who range in age from 3 to 16 years old — on a short vacation to Charlotte, North Carolina. The vacation was supposed to take place from May 22 to May 26. Tawanna says she granted her permission for the trip, but that the children had not returned on May 26.

Tawanna states in the court documents that she tried to set up an exchange on June 4 at a nearby Target store with Iverson, but that he didn’t show.

Per the former couple’s custody arrangement, Tawanna has sole custody of their children. She says she believes now that Allen never took their kids to Charlotte at all, and that they might be staying in a Sheraton hotel in Georgia.

Tawanna says she is especially worried because Allen has an alcohol problem and he drinks around their kids. She wants the court to force him to return the children, and to punish him. She has even suggested that they send him to jail.

Sadly, this isn’t the first time that Tawanna has tried to get Iverson locked up. Previously she had to petition the court because Iverson had allegedly not paid over $40,000 in child support.

In response, Allen has filed legal docs in which he denies all of his ex-wife's allegations.
