The Voice Season 6: Adam Levine Nabs Aloe Blacc as His Mentor
It’s nearly time for the start of The Voice Season 6, and as we prepare for another round of Blind Auditions, the all-star coaches are locking in some mega talent for their guest mentors. So far, all the other coaches’ mentors save for Adam Levine’s have been revealed, but now we finally know who will be helping Adam potentially coach another Tessanne Chin into superstardom: Aloe Blacc.
We know some people are scratching their heads on this one, but Aloe Blacc is an up-and-comer. As the co-writer and co-performer of “Wake Me Up” the song made famous by Swedish musician Avicii, Aloe has a lot of useful knowledge to impart to Team Adam, both as a performer and as a songwriter.
Fans of The Voice may remember Aloe from the Season 5 finale. The Panamanian-American singer dueted on “Wake Me Up” with second runner up Will Champlin in the season finale.
Though Aloe’s star is on the rise, he’s definitely the most obscure artist on this season’s team of mentors. Team Blake will get an assist from country superstars The Band Perry, while his wife Miranda Lambert will add a little country to Shakira’s rock ‘n’ roll. Meanwhile, Grammy winning R&B singer Jill Scott will be helping Team Usher get into fighting shape.
What do you think of Adam’s choice of mentor? Should he have picked someone with more name recognition, or does it not matter — so long as they have great advice?
