American Idol Alum Pia Toscano Dazzles at Disrupting Slavery Charity Event
While her ninth place finish on American Idol Season 10 was one of the most shocking exits in the show’s history, Pia Toscano definitely hasn’t faded into obscurity. Besides making the talk show circuit, performing the National Anthem at the L.A. Kings game before the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs, and auditioning for a role on Glee, she’s been a regular on the Hollywood scene.
Looking absolutely stunning (as always) in a black top paired with white pants, Pia recently showed up in support of The Somaly Mam Foundation event at the “Disrupting Slavery” event at 41 Ocean in Santa Monica. She chatted up fellow supporters Cassie Scerbo, Serinda Swan, and Somaly Mam about the charity, and how excited she was to be there.
The Somaly Mam Foundation works to eradicate sex slavery in the modern world. There are a shocking and appalling two million women and children sold into sexual slavery every year, primarily in Southeast Asia. Somaly Mam is a survivor, herself, so she is working to empower her fellow survivors so they can go on to live a life of dignity.
Good for Pia! Do you remember the night she was voted off American Idol? Were you as shocked as we were?
