After some much-needed time away from the harsh media spotlight, Amanda Bynes is finally getting ready to come home.

TMZ reports that the troubled star is gearing up to leave the Malibu treatment center where she’s been cooling her heels since early fall — and she could be out as soon as next month.

Amanda was first institutionalized on a judge’s orders over the summer at UCLA after a series of bizarre events, including months of angry outbursts on social media, an incident during which she allegedly threw a bong out the window and accused NYPD officers of sexual assault, and finally, in her piece de resistance, lit a fire in a stranger’s driveway near her parents’ home in Sherman Oaks, California.

Now that doctors have finally adjusted Amanda’s medications to the correct dosages and gotten her set up with therapy that seems to be working for the 27-year-old star, they seem to be confident that she’ll be able to continue improving more on the outside than on the inside, where she’s getting cabin fever.

When Amanda is released in December, the good people of California  won’t have to start worrying about keeping fire extinguishers handy again — she’s being released into her mom’s custody and living at home.
