The Real Housewives of New Jersey may thrive on drama, but the recent feud between castmates Amber Marchese and Teresa Giudice is taking cattiness to new levels.
Newcomer Amber proved she can give just as good as the rest of her brawl-happy castmates when she decided to bring up the touchy subject of Teresa and Joe Giudice’s legal woes. The couple, who have been accused of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud, were the subject of Amber’s vicious mocking over their precarious financial situation.
“Amber’s husband owns a mortgage company and they are trying to make a name for themselves and nothing is off limits including Teresa’s legal woes,” a source tells RadarOnline.com. “The Marcheses feel that they are too classy for the rest of the cast members and don’t like being associated with criminals.”
Creating trouble has been one of the surefire ways for members of the Housewives series to make names for themselves (Teresa’s “prostitution whore” table flip, anyone), but Amber’s vendetta against the Giudices seems particularly opportunistic.
“Amber will do anything to grab attention — she has fought with every single cast member and now her husband is getting in on it,” says the insider. “ She went after Melissa [Gorga] first and now has moved onto Teresa. She knows going after the two main housewives will get her the most camera time.”
While being the target of trash talk isn’t coming as a surprise to Teresa, she’s still trying to keep discussions of her court case to a minimum.
“Teresa looked nervous and subdued when the topic of conversation turned to her legal drama: She tried to downplay the whole scene and not make it an issue while the cameras were rolling,” says a Housewives insider.
“She’s desperately trying to keep control over how her pending legal trouble is portrayed on the show and thought that everyone would respect her and not discuss the legal drama.”
