Amber Portwood to Make Her First Sober TV Appearance on Dr. Phil
It seems like just yesterday that Amber Portwood was sentenced to a whopping five years in jail, but this gal was released in November after a mere 17 months! Since her grand debut, Amber has reunited with her sweet daughter Leah, and we can't wait to find out about what else she's been up to since washing the melted Jolly Ranchers out of her hair. Luckily, we won't have to wait that long!
Amber will make an appearance Dr. Phil on December 20, where she'll chat about her drug use as well as her anger issues (#neverforget the time Amber tried to strangle her baby daddy, Gary Shirley).
"This is actually my first time on stage sober," she admitted to Dr. Phil. "So, I'm really nervous."
Um, wait. Does this mean Amber was high every time she showed up for a therapeutic hang session with Dr. Drew Pinsky on Teen Mom's reunion specials? Our innocence is shattered! But wait, it gets worse. Amber also admitted to being high while filming Teen Mom itself.
"Every time you see me on that show I am high," she revealed.
Well, that explains a lot. In case you need a refresher, Amber was addicted to Fentanyl patches, a strong pain reliever that's more potent than morphine. She was able to wean herself off the patches thanks to Therapeutic Community (rehab in prison) and Narcotics Anonymous, and now she's clean and sober. And apparently BFF with Dr. Phil, to boot.
We're so happy that Amber was able to sober up — she should be so proud of what she's accomplished!
