News Alert: Amber Portwood Has Finally Joined Twitter!

Amber Portwood has joined Twitter. We repeat, Amber Portwood, former Teen Mom star/jail bird/lover of thumb dermals, has joined Twitter after half a decade spent avoiding the social media platform. In other words, this is huge news!

Amber has been a fixture in entertainment news ever since she admitted to her drug addiction and voluntarily went to jail. Twitter is a great way for this gal to nip rumors in the bud, chat with her fans directly, and share important moments from her life. The downside? The social media outlet is also a place where she'll be ridiculed by haters, and a place where every move she makes will be judged and analyzed. In fact, we're slightly worried about whether or not Ambs has thick enough skin for the army of Teen Mom fans that are clicking the "follow" button as we type this…

While Amber's Twitter isn't verified yet (and there are a lot of fakes out there), we have it on good authority that @AmberLPortwood is legit. Not only has the handle posted multiple selfies, Amber's brother Shawn confirmed that it's authentic, tweeting "The real deal" along with a link to her timeline.

So, what has Amber tweeted about since joining Twitter on March 15? She confirmed that she'll be running the handle herself, gave a shout out to her fans, and commented on her sobriety.

"Yes I'm still clean...something tells me you guys would know if I wasn't lol..sending love <3," she tweeted, adding "2 years clean.."

We're so proud of Amber for staying strong, and can't wait to keep up with her life on social media. Let's just hope this poor gal doesn't fall victim to the drama-rama that often surrounds Twitter.
