Amber Riley’s DWTS Voting Number Was Wrong — How Glee Co-star Helped Out
Glee star Amber Riley (Mercedes) gave another stellar performance on this week’s Dancing With the Stars, which shouldn’t be a big surprise. However, voting for Amber this week turned out to be harder than usual. The show posted the wrong phone number on the screen. Not cool! Luckily, she has a fellow Glee star to help her out. Don’t you just love it when the Glee family sticks together?
Amber was definitely in the Glee spirit during “Most Memorable Year” Week on DWTS yesterday. She opted for 2009, the year she landed on Glee, and she performed her foxtrot to her own rendition of “Try a Little Tenderness” from Glee Season 2. Indeed, she was excited about the dance prior to the episode, tweeting:
She was right about having fun, as Amber and her partner Derek Hough blew us all away with her foxtrot, receiving some pretty stellar scores for her efforts. Her three scores: 9, 7 (huh?), and 10. C’mon, Len — get some happiness in your life.
But it wasn’t just grumpy Len who offered an obstacle for Amber, as the show then mistakenly posted the wrong phone number for people to call in and vote for her. Gasp! So after the show, Amber took to Twitter to share the actual phone number.
And she wasn’t the only one getting the word out on the new number. That’s right — she got some help from Glee co-star Chris Colfer (Kurt), who probably momentarily gave his fans a thrill when he posted Amber’s DWTS number as if it were his own personal cell number.
Very sneaky, Chris! But we appreciate his effort, as it’s sweet for him to do what he can to make sure Amber gets a fair shake. Obviously, when you get a perfect 10 as Amber did, you definitely deserve to stick around, so let’s just hope enough people got the memo about the new number. We’re wishing you the best, Amber!
