Amber Riley to Perform Original Glee Song on Queen Latifah Show April 8

It's been great to have Mercedes (Amber Riley) back on Glee for the past few episodes. And this isn't the only exciting news in Amber's life, as she is about to perform her new solo tune on The Queen Latifah Show.

Amber has been gearing up to drop her debut solo album, as she recently released her cover version of a song that she co-wrote for a different artist. Now, she will be performing a song on Queen Latifah's show this Thursday that she will then sing on next week's Glee Season 5, Episode 15: "Bash."

"April 3, I will be the musical guest on @qlshow The Queen Latifah show!" Amber tweets on March 31. "Singing an original song that will air on Glee April 8th! Tune in!!!"

Amber clarifies that this song, called "Color Blind," will be an "original song I recorded for my album written by @ClaudeKelly and Emeli Sande." And her manager Scooter Braun, who helped discover the one and only Justin Bieber, tweets, "i love that song!"

Next week's Glee episode is likely to be a heavy one, given that Kurt (Chris Colfer) will be involved in a physical altercation, so we have a feeling that Amber's song will be emotional. At any rate, we're thrilled for her, and we can't wait for her to sing it for Queen Latifah and then on Glee!

Are you happy that Amber is pursuing a recording career? And do you plan to buy her album when it comes out?
