American Horror Story re-uses the same repertory of actors each season, Kathy Bates included.

American Horror Story Season 7 will cover the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump included.

So, if we follow the transitive rule here, does that mean Kathy will play Donald?

Frankly, we didn’t even know Kathy’s name was being bandied about as the next great Trump impersonator — before she herself addressed the speculation — though we did know the businessman-turned-President would be a focal point of Season 7.

It wasn’t always thus, however. AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy initially said Season 7 would not feature Trump and presidential opponent Hillary Clinton.

“The themes of American Horror Story have always been allegories,” he said at the Publicists Guild Awards Luncheon last month, per IndieWire.

“You will not see Trump and Clinton as characters on the show.”

A week later, Ryan backtracked a bit in an interview with E! News, saying Clinton and Trump will be portrayed on the show but only peripherally.

“I think people literally think Sarah Paulson is playing Hillary Clinton, and I wanted to clarify that that is not true,” he said.

Horror Story is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It's our jumping off point,” the 51-year-old producer continued.

“It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps, is a horror story.”

Anyway, getting back to Kathy: The Hill caught up with the Oscar winner yesterday, March 17, and asked if she was playing Trump.

“Oh, my lord … I doubt that would happen. I really do,” she said.

“I know Ryan Murphy is doing something about the election. You know, my eyes popped open when he said that,”

“No. I don’t think I’ll be playing Donald Trump,” the 68-year-old added.

“You know, I’m going to leave that to Alec Baldwin. I think he’s doing a smash job.”
