Sarah Paulson clearly loves her job on American Horror Story, but that doesn't mean it's always easy season after season. Take the time, for example, her character writhed around with a snake in the Coven saga!

"The director came up to me, and he said, 'We really wanna do this full-out. It's American Horror Story. We're gonna go for it. How do you feel about having a snake on your body?'" she recounted on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "And I was like, 'How do I feel about it? Um, I don't feel good about it.' And it was this albino snake named Butter that I got very close to, very intimate with Butter. His tongue went up my nose. It was really the most action I had had in a long time, so it was fine by me. But by the end of the thing, I was very nervous."

The 39 year-old didn't exactly get a confidence boost from her fellow leading lady: "Jessica Lange came up to me as she was departing for the day and said, 'Have fun with those snakes. You know, even the nicest ones can bite.' … And so off she went."

However, Sarah asserts that her snake-wrangling was hardly the most uncomfortable moment in her AHS tenure: "I did have to breastfeed my 35-year-old friend Zachary Quinto."

Such scenes make it difficult to talk to her father, the Emmy nominee explained, considering he's a fervent viewer: "What's the endgame, really, at the end of that conversation? There's no good place for that to land, you know? 'What was that day like?' "Uh, Dad, it was a little chafe-y.' Like, what am I supposed to say?"

We can only imagine what horrors are in store for her in American Horror Story: Freak Show!
