American Idol 2013: Aubrey Cleland “Over the Moon” at Making Top 20
American Idol 2013 contestant Aubrey Cleland is just “over the moon” at being selected as part of the Season 12 Top 20. After her highly praised performance during the semi-finals, she should be! But how much further will she make it in the competition? It's up to the voters to decide now!
Fans of the show didn’t get to see much of Aubrey Cleland before the Top 40 Las Vegas sudden death rounds. Her first appearance before the American Idol judges in Long Beach, CA was not aired during the audition rounds. She was basically missing in action during the girls’ Hollywood Week as well.
In Vegas, however, Aubrey emerged onto the scene with a roar with her performance of “Sweet Dreams” by Beyonce. All four of the American Idol judges were in love with this gorgeous young lady with the powerhouse voice. Randy Jackson said she was the “total package,” and Mariah Carey called her “limitless.”
“I’m so grateful to be in the Top 10 girls,” Aubrey says in an interview with AmericanIdol.com about being chosen to go to the semifinals. “Just saying it is unreal. I’m in shock. I’m just so excited.” So are we actually, to see what else this beautiful singer has in store for us going forward in the competition.
Next up on Season 12, Aubrey and the rest of the Top 20 contestants will be performing live for America for their votes. “I’ve been wanting to get to that since I first started watching the show,” Aubrey says. “I can’t believe I’m doing it.”
The petite 19-year-old from West Linn, OR, says she she plans on bringing her “A game” to the semifinals and hopes “America likes me enough to vote for me.”
Sadly for any guys out there who are thinking they’d like to pass along their number to this fabulous young lady, we have to report she’s taken. Aubrey gave a shout out to her beau back at home while thanking her supporters.
“I’d love to thank my family, my boyfriend, my friends, everyone who has supported me. I wouldn’t be here without you guys, so thank you so much.”
