American Idol Contestant Brittany Mazur’s Pageant Queen Past

From beauty queen to American Idol hopeful, Brittany Mazur will be vying for a new title this season. The 21-year-old Tucson native hit up the San Francisco auditions and impressed the judges enough to score a ticket to Hollywood. She's also rumored to be a Top 40 contestant.

Before American Idol, she was working the pageant circuit. Brittany has numerous titles under her belt: She's a former Miss Tucson Valley, Miss Arizona Cinderella, International Cinderella Teen, and Miss Arizona's Outstanding Teen. She currently reigns as Miss Tucson. That's a lot of tiaras! Her Miss Outstanding Teen Profile lists a slew of squeaky-clean facts fitting for a pageant princess. Brittany has been an honor roll student since the third grade and served as president of the National Junior Honor Society in middle school. She loves "good Southern cookin' like chicken and dumplings" and her favorite thing to do is "teach children to sing and dance." She's also chosen "Abstinence for the Teens of Today" as her platform issue. Naturally, Brittany has chosen to sing during the talent portion of all her pageants.

Now after watching the unremarkable Stormi Henley make it to Hollywood Week, we rolled our eyes at yet another beauty queen joining American Idol. But Brittany might actually be talented! We've dug up a few of her past performances for you to judge. Tell us, do you think Brittany has what it takes it win American Idol?

Brittany belts out the Dreamgirls fave "Listen":

Brittany goes Broadway! Here she is performing "Here I Am" from the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Reportedly Brittany has a reputation as a "fierce competitor” in the pageant world. The critics at Vote for the Worst say she turns into quite the mean girl at Hollywood Week and will instigate a ton of drama! Get ready for Brittany Mazur to stir things up this season.
