American Idol Judge Randy Jackson Hopes a Girl Will Win Season 12

The American Idol judges really seem to be into the ladies this season, and the most veteran of the bunch, Randy Jackson, is no exception. Right now, Randy said in a press interview with Wetpaint after the Top 10 were announced, the girls are running the world on Idol.

What do you think about people saying that this is the year for a girl winner?

I think that they could be right. I hope that they are. I think the girls are stronger. I've been saying it's a girl's season to lose. I think we'll get some really interesting, charismatic girls.

And did anyone surprise you with the songs that they came out with after they were chosen with the performances that they had right after? Did you anyone surprise you in particular?

Yeah, I mean, Kree turned a whole ‘nother leaf equally as dope as she had been. She was kind of the country lady, kind of folky kind of girl, that was singing songs from Nashville to this R&B kind of like bluesy, and I was like, “yo, what?” This girl has got serious talent. So it put me in the mind a whole ‘nother view of her, put me in the mind of Kelly Clarkson a little bit which I love because she's got that same sort of mixture. So I love that.

Did America get this top ten right?

I think America definitely did, yes.

Do you agree the voters got it right when they picked the American Idol Season 12 Top 10?
