American Idol Judges: Should Randy Jackson Be Replaced for 2014?
With the decline in ratings and the recent rumor that American Idol 2013's producers tried to replace Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez mid-season, it’s no wonder there’s a lot of buzz that next season will involve a huge shakeup. Will any of the American Idol judges return next year, and if so, who will and who won't?
As we reported earlier, even host Ryan Seacrest may be replaced. He’s been there since the beginning, as has The Dawg. Speaking of the only remaining original judge left... Should Randy Jackson be replaced on American Idol 2014?
We decided to weigh in and, although we don’t hold any hatred in our hearts for the judge who’s become known for his “dawg pounds” and many Randy-isms (“she’s in it to win it, yo!”), we think it’s time for him to go.
In fact, when rumors surfaced this season that he almost wasn’t going to be renewed and might be moved to a mentor role, it made sense. However, when he stuck around (and likely got a very pretty penny to do so), we also thought this might work, too. With three new judges at the table, it would seem that it might be nice to have someone who knows the Idol ropes.
The steadily declining ratings tell a different story. America is ready for something new and different when it comes to this long-running show. So we say make a clean (or at least nearly clean) sweep of the judges’ panel, as America has spoken. And fans are saying they are NOT happy.
What do you think? Do you agree that Randy Jackson should go?
