Ryan Seacrest has officially confirmed he will be returning as the American Idol 2014 host for Season 13. After news this morning that FOX is planning a major revamp of the reality series next year, we are glad to hear Ryan won’t be getting the axe.
We’ve already lost Randy Jackson at the American Idol judges table for next season, and all signs are pointing toward a complete replacement of the panel for 2014. Producers desperately want to do everything they can to boost American Idol ratings, which have been hitting record lows all season long this year.
The only thing most critics seem to agree on is that host Ryan Seacrest really isn’t part of the problem when it comes to failing American Idol ratings. If anything, he’s the only part of the show that still really works after twelve seasons. So we’re excited to know he won’t be going anywhere for Season 13.
“I’m staying next season, yes. I’m hosting 100%,” Ryan Seacrest told Extra TV, according to American Idol spoilers site mjsbigblog. As for the rest of the rumors going around about next season, Ryan isn’t ready to talk about that yet. “I think we’re trying to get through this finale week, and we’ll find out what next season brings after that.”
