How is this for some delicious American Idol spoilers? Angie Miller just might break the record for the shortest American Idol elimination-to-record-deal span in the show’s history! She’s been on a whirlwind media blitz since leaving the show, along with rehearsing for the finale, and in one interview she implied her career is already progressing at a breakneck pace.
The 19-year-old Beverly, MA, native was speaking with a DJ from New York City radio station WPLJ when he asked her about the possibility of getting a deal with Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope Records.
“He’s great,” Angie said with a smile. “He knows what he’s doing.”
The DJ then asked Angie if the talks would happen down the line when she shocked the pants off him by telling him the talks have already begun.
“They’re starting now, and I think...everything will be finalized after the finale.”
“That quick!?” asked the DJ. “Yeah, that quick,” Angie replied, going on to say, “I am so excited, you have no idea!”
The DJ compared it to last year when he spoke with third-place finisher Joshua Ledet, saying Joshua had no idea what would be happening next.
This definitely jibes with everything we’ve heard so far about the producers really rushing things this year, and that the winner will likely have a debut album out within a mere six weeks of the American Idol finale.
Are you surprised to hear Angie Miller likely already has a record deal?
