Jennifer Lopez received thunderous applause following her performance during the finale, and all of the judges gave her a standing ovation — except for Mariah.
Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson all got up to their feet to applaud J-Lo, but Mariah pointedly stayed seated. Ouch.
Mariah and Jennifer's bad blood reportedly stretches all the way back to the early 2000s, with Mariah said to be resentful that her ex-husband, Sony head Tommy Mottola, gave songs to J-Lo that Mariah wanted for her Glitter soundtrack. (Ah, Glitter.)
Reportedly, the feud continued last year with Mariah demanding $2 million more than J-Lo got to do the show. And of course, we can't imagine Mariah appareciated recent rumors that Fox bosses wanted Jen to replace Mariah halfway through the season.
With rumors now flying that Mariah will get the boot from the show in the off-season, it's possible that Mariah no longer feels she needs to pretend to make nice with everyone.
So do you think Mariah was sending a message by remaining in her chair? Or do you think it was maybe just a really comfortable chair?
