Of all the American Idol judges this season, Keith Urban seemed to give the most detailed and constructive critiques. To us, it really felt like he cared about making sure the contestants received the best advice possible to better their performances. He also seemed to really enjoy the task, as he’s stated he would love to come back for American Idol 2014.

All of that care and appreciation for the contestants doesn’t end when
Idol goes off the air, however. In fact, Keith said in an interview right before the finale that he’d be more than happy to work with either of the Top 2 finalists on their upcoming albums.

If either of the two girls asked you to work with them would you be willing to work with them on their new albums?

Yes, yes I think they’re excellent I really do. I’d love to.

What about your album?

We’re working on it, I have a new single coming out tonight and then I hit the road in July with Little Big Town and Dustin Wrench so I look forward to that.

I know you said last night that you would want to be a judge if you came back, have they asked you, have you had any conversations about coming back?

There’s a lot of talk at the moment! There’s a lot of things in the works so…we’ll see.

Who would you want to come back?

Ryan!

WP: Have you talked to Candace and Kree, how are they feeling tonight?

I haven’t talked to them but I’m sure they’re probably relieved that last nights performances are over.

What advice would you give them tonight?

Just to enjoy it. And really it all starts here no matter how tonight plays out for everyone, it all starts here. Everybody that has been on this show can make something of this moment. I was thinking about there are how many thousands of people singing in a bar this weekend who would kill for this moment and would know what to do with this moment, they’re watching TV going oh my God I would know what to do with that moment.
