Adam Lambert may have kept his sexuality close to the vest on season eight of American Idol but, since revealing that he is gay after his run on the show, he’s made amazing strides for the LGBT community.
In recognition of his work, the “For Your Entertainment” singer was just awarded Los Angeles’ “City of Hope Award” from Mayor Villaraigosa. As he tweeted that night, “What an honor!” Indeed! Adam Lambert was chosen due to his “accomplishments and advocacy on behalf of the LGBT community.”
The possible American Idol judge-to-be was awarded the Davidson/Valentini prize at the 2013 GLAAD Awards only weeks before. That award is also given to someone who has made a significant impact on equal rights for the LGBT community.
We love his activism but we need to digress to the more superficial for just a moment — is the new beard and mustache he premiered while accepting the award hot or not? We say he looks fantastic!
