Season six American Idol alum Chris Sligh and his wife, Sarah, recently welcomed a baby boy, McCartney Charles Sligh.

Chris announced the birth and vital statistics via Twitter. McCartney joins big sis, Keira Lennon, was born in 2010. McCartney and Lennon – we’re sensing a theme here. Will they go for baby #3 just to be able to name him/her Ringo? Only time will tell.

You might remember Chris from season six for either his stellar audition, for which he performed Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose,” or his even more impressive group performance of the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love”. The latter was outstanding, especially with the artfully placed beatbox by runner-up from that season, Blake Lewis.

Chris also became known later in the season for a snipe he made to Simon Cowell after Simon criticized one of his performances, saying it was like “being at some weird student gig.” Chris retorted with, “Just because I don’t sound like Il Divo or the Teletubbies doesn’t mean that I don’t have a good voice,” which was a pot shot that was in reference to Simon working on both those ventures. After that, the general consensus is that Chris’s time on the show had gone to his head, and he ended up in tenth place.

Here’s an interesting bit of trivia for you in reference to this season’s runner-up, Kree Harrison – Chris co-wrote the song “Here Comes Goodbye” with Rascal Flatts, which was the song that nearly swung the momentum of the show towards Kree.

Congratulations, Chris!

Do you remember him from season six?
