In the battle for who is the biggest hot mess, it’s nearly a photo finish between plenty o’ Hollywood starlets, but Amanda Bynes is certainly leading the pack as of right now. And the latest celebrity to add his two cents on the unraveling of the former Nickelodeon star is Mr. Mariah Carey – er, Nick Cannon.

The America’s Got Talent host told Howard Stern on his radio show today that he thought of her “like my little sister” when they worked together on her show years ago.

To see someone you'd seen at 9, running around with a snotty nose, and now to see her like that is like, 'Wow, man! That's sad.'"

Apparently, he also tried to reach out to her but was unable to do so.

The batsh-t crazy star does not like when people try to help either, and made that perfectly clear via Twitter when Dr. Drew tried to step in.

The Celebrity Rehab star/doctor tweeted, "It may be time to leave @AmandaBynes alone. She will get help if she wants it & if she needs it, hopefully before serious consequences." She reportedly unleashed a tirade on him, which caused him to apologize for expressing his opinion in a public forum.

The latest curveball thrown into the mix of of Amanda’s demise is – wait for it – she’s faking it all! Her publicist, Jonathan Jaxson, alleges via Life & Style that she sent him texts that the whole shebang has been a big, planned ruse in order to pump up her Twitter following (America does love a good train wreck).

One part of the text read, “All this is an act and you know it! I am an actress and I know what I’m doing.”

See, she’s just pulling our legs, y’all. It’s just a bit of method acting.

It was nice of Nick to try, though. Do you think he’s as nice as he seems?
