If Steven Tyler falls offstage and then you don’t call him and still think you’re going to be friends, all we have to say is “Dream On.” Come on, you knew it was coming. The Aerosmith frontman revealed on Howard Stern’s radio show today that the reason he took the gig judging on American Idol was because he was “pissed off at the band. I fell off stage and nobody called me.” Now that is some “Sweet (and sensitive) Emotion”.
After the fall, which happened at a concert in Canada in 2010, Steven checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. He then announced his plans to leave the band.
"The format was supposed to be take the p**s out of people, so it's good TV, and I was gentle because I couldn't imagine telling some girl... she sucks and she can't sing, so then for the rest of her life she's not singing,” Steven told Howard.
Really? Because it just seemed to us like he wavered between apathy and sleeping on the job.
The raspy-voiced singer has apparently mended fences with his bandmates, as he rejoined Aerosmith and is now touring the world with the group. Had we asked him why, we’re guessing he’d have said, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. Groan.
