While American Idol shied away from letting contestants use social media for a while, they’re now pretty much given no-holds-barred access to Twitter and the like. No one took more advantage of that this season than Angie Miller. From the moment she sang her original song, “You Set Me Free,” on the Idol stage during Hollywood Week, the third runner-up had tens of thousands more followers than her season 12 peers.

A couple of days ago, she proved she’s still staying in touch with her fans, the #Dreamers, and likely to her advantage, too. She tweeted, “"Sooooo should I tweet some lyrics to a new song...???;)."

Dreamers’ responses flowed like a fine wine, so Angie didn’t disappoint. An hour later, she posted the following lyrics:

"It's my passion I believe in, tell me you can hear it, I want you to need it!!!" and "it's time to break the glass and all that holds me back is gonna #Shatter!!"

Late last night, the Boston-area native tweeted, “#Shatter is gonna be the best song ever...besides you set me free.”

The lyrics have Angie all over them, which is a huge compliment to her, as she not only has a signature sound but also signature lyrics. That’s quite a feat for someone who didn’t even win the show. What a difference a year has made for the young singer. She recognized that fact online yesterday, tweeting, “Wow, a year ago today I auditioned for @AmericanIdol.... #crazy."

Angie has posted several photos of herself in the studio, along with a few sneak peeks and funny pics. Considering Candice Glover pushed her album release date back, one has to wonder if Angie won’t be far behind with her own album.

Which season 12 Idol contestant’s album will you buy?
