A lot of American Idol fans think of Angie Miller as “the one who should have won". Whether that’s true or not, she certainly hasn’t been resting on her laurels since coming in third place on Season 12. The latest video to emerge of the young, Boston-area singer is a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her recording an acoustic version of her single, “You Set Me Free”.
On her YouTube channel, Angie wrote, "Wanted to put something special together for all you #Dreamers, and with the help of Ryan Garvin we put this together!! Behind the scenes in Red Decibel studio where 'You Set Me Free' was recorded!! =D Love you all sooo much!! Hope you like it!! =) Dream Big.”
In the video, the pretty singer describes the risk she took performing that song during Hollywood Week on the show. She had only recorded it two months prior to Idol beginning, and had only performed it in front of one crowd. As she put it, “I had no idea if it was even good.” Only a few notes in and everyone, including the American Idol judges, knew it was not only good, but it was something truly special.
“That really established myself on the show,” Angie gushed.
Angie went back into Red Decibel studio to give her #Dreamers a “small, stripped down version” of the song that not only established her as a fabulous singer, but as a talented songwriter.
