UPDATE (8/29/13): Scooter Braun isn't interested in the gig, according to a TMZ source, who says, "The only reason to do it at this point is vanity, and he doesn't do things for vanity. Without the right to manage the acts [which belongs to producer Simon Fuller], it makes no business sense for him, and ultimately, he's a business guy."

Right now the American Idol judging panel is pretty empty — just Keith Urban and (all but officially) Jennifer Lopez. But if J.Lo has her way, Scooter Braun will join the mix.

Never heard of him? He's the guy responsible for raising Justin Bieber from Canadian obscurity to worldwide superstardom. Plus, he also represents Carly Rae Jepsen, Psy, and The Wanted.

Us Weekly reports that Scooter has already met with Idol producers and with Jennifer, who has given him her stamp of approval.

"Jennifer loves Scooter and feels he'd be an excellent choice," the magazine's source says. "She would love him to be a judge."

Other names that have been bandied about for the vacant chairs include Kanye West, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and will.i.am — all three of whom have reportedly passed — and music producer Dr. Luke — who's still in the running.

Do you think Scooter would be a good choice? Or should he just scoot away? Voice your stance below.
