This week's America's Got Talent Semifinals Round 2 performance show was even better than last week's Round 1, meaning we're going to say goodbye some amazing contestants in tonight's results show. It's time for our recap as we find out which six acts are moving on to the finals, and which six will be sent packing. The suspense!
After a boisterous performance by rockers Fall Out Boy, it's time to find out who America voted for last night. The first three acts called to the stage are American Military Spouses Choir, Branden James, and Timber Brown. The first spot in the finals is given to Branden James, who is relieved to hear the news. And so are we!
Next to the stage are the Chicago Boyz and KriStef Brothers, and we're worried that one will be sent packing. Luckily, both the Chicago Boyz and KriStef Brothers are sent through. Hooray! Time to put on your best neck brace to celebrate.
It's now the battle of the country singers whose first names end in "y," with Marty Brown head-to-head with Jimmy Rose. The spot goes to Jimmy Rose, y'all. And it's looking like a bad night for people with the last name of Brown.
Only two spots remain. Leon and Romy, John Wing, and Kenichi Ebina all head to the stage. This one seems a little obvious to us, and sure enough, Kenichi Ebina gets the nod. Makes sense. However, all hope is not lost for wild-card returnees Leon and Romy, who are given a consolation appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Not too shabby. But poor John Wing gets nada.
And now, the last spot is down to nothing but youngsters: Anna Christine vs. D’Angelo and Amanda. This tough choice is up to the judges. Heidi opts for D’Angelo and Amanda, with Mel and Howard both on Team Anna. Howie throws his support to the hoofers, so it's a tie, which will be settled by America's vote. Gulp. And the spot in the finals goes to... D’Angelo and Amanda! Apparently, America really loved all the dancers this week.
Frankly, we think that all the performers who went through this week were great. However, we're a little shocked by a few of the eliminated acts, especially Anna Christine. And given how much the judges loved John Wing, we thought he would make it through as well. But we're thrilled about Chicago Boyz, Kenichi, and the KriStef Brothers going through, since we think any one of those could win it all.
So here are the six who made the cut:
D'Angelo and Amanda
And here are the six that weren't so lucky:
American Military Spouses Choir
Leon and Romy
Congrats to the six that are moving on! And now we can't wait for next week's episodes. In the meantime, we hope the KriStef Brothers wash those retractable swords before they use them again.
