Collins Key has a way of bringing magic into the 21st century, as proven by his placement among the America’s Got Talent 2013 Top 6 finalists. So just who is this illusion-loving teen?
Collins — only 16 years old when he auditioned for AGT — actually got his start in the entertainment as a child actor and went on his first acting audition at age 4. Then, when he was 12, he fell in love with magic.
Nine months after that initial introduction to magic, Collins auditioned for the Magic Castle’s Junior program and was accepted. Well done! Since then, he has honed his skills at the Renaissance Faire, the storied Magic Castle itself, and at private events.
Collins has wowed us all throughout his time on the show, between smashing watches to putting money in popcorn bags to even getting himself a date. (Hey, a magician has needs, okay?) We also love how Collins is able to incorporate contemporary social media into his act, via live video and Twitter.
Collins has had quite a run on AGT, even getting dubbed the “Justin Bieber of magic” because of his age and his adorable looks. Can he win the whole show? To paraphrase the Biebs himself: Baby, baby, baby, maybe!
