Jimmy Rose’s skills as a singer-songwriter and guitarist have landed him a well-deserved spot among the America’s Got Talent 2013 Top 6 finalists. But just who is this smooth-voiced country crooner?

Jimmy — age 32 at the time of his AGT audition — lives in his home town of Pineville, Kentucky. He started working as a coal miner immediately after graduating high school. He is also a veteran of the Marines, having been deployed to Iraq in 2005.

Jimmy has two children, and he is currently dating a woman named Heather Morgan. Jimmy’s parents are two of his biggest fans but were unable to watch him perform in person on AGT because his mom has congestive heart failure and is waiting on a hip transplant. We wish her all the best!

The judges are most impressed with Jimmy when he performs his original song “Coal Keeps the Lights On," which he wrote about his home town. But he has also done some killer Garth Brooks covers. So we can’t wait to see whether Jimmy will light up the stage by winning the show’s grand prize!
