Is life imitating art with Dreamgirls? Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce played girl-group frenemies Effie Melody White and Deena Jones in that 2006 big-screen musical adaptation, and rumor has had it ever since that the two actresses have bad blood between 'em.

And we couldn't necessarily fault them if they didn't love each other. After all, Beyonce has had a bigger music career in the intervening years, but Jennifer was the one who got an Oscar nomination — and win — for Dreamgirls.

Leave it to Andy Cohen to get to the bottom of the matter.

When J.Hud sat down with him on Watch What Happens Live to promote her new movie, Black Nativity, Andy had the singer-turned-actress play "Plead the Fifth" — asking three questions of which she could opt not to answer only one.

Luckily for us, Jen answered all three. So now we know that:

  1. She wasn't throwing shade when she tweeted, "When you play dirty, you can never win" — it's just her stylist's motto.

  2. She doesn't have a favorite curse word, but her late mother was fond of saying "hells—tdamnf—k."

  3. She and Queen Bey are still tight!

"There [were] never any rifts at all," Jennifer explained emphatically. "That is still my girl to this day. I love her. We've always been good."

Good to hear… assuming you believe her.

Do you reckon she telling the whole story? Or do you think there really is drama between the two stars? Let us know below!
