You'd think that a girl would be all smiles after winning Season 12 of American Idol!

But Candice Glover sings a different tune in her the tune she just released, "Cried" — the first single from her upcoming debut album, Music Speaks.

The single is available for purchase and download on iTunes today, November 25, and the lyric video — which we've embedded below — is on YouTube.

As piano and strings provide a stirring backdrop, Candice rues a broken relationship with her powerhouse voice:

"I cried for all of the heartache you caused/I tried to be the girl that never complains/ but holding it in/is driving me insane/so I cried and I cried and I cried and I cried / Cried and I cried and I cried and I cried…"

(You get the picture!)

Music Speaks, just FYI, is due to be released by 19/Interscope Records on February 18.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, you'll also be able to catch Candice at the Soul Train Awards this Sunday, December 1 — the big show airing on BET at 8 p.m. ET — alongside the guy who wore the Idol crown ten years before her, Season 2 winner Ruben Studdard.
