Jennifer Hudson is one of the biggest stars to come out of American Idol, and she didn't even win her year, Season 3. In fact, she wasn't even close! The singer-turned-actress came in seventh place — and, as she tells Andy Cohen on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Simon Cowell and the other producers laughed when she said that the elimination wouldn't stop her.

"I love you Simon, but I'm not singing for you," she asserts, as you can see in the video below. "When I was eliminated from the show and I told them — I was like, 'I will be back. I don't know when. I don't know how. I don't know where.' And I recall the producers laughing. And… here I am!"

Imagine her karmic delight in singing "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" in 2006's Dreamgirls, a role that won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. We bet Simon was eating his words then!

Aside from her Idol takedowns, the 32-year-old has had a busy 2013. She's the star of two movies currently in theaters, the adolescent drama The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete and the Christmas musical Black Nativity.

Who's laughin' now!
