American Idol Season 13 is officially underway and so far, we’ve been totally impressed with the caliber of contestants auditioning this year. In fact, we’ve been too impressed. How in the world are they possibly going to have enough room for all of these talented men and women? Sadly, many changes might be coming to Idol but giving a spot to everyone who wows us isn’t one of them.

After only one night of auditions, we’re already prepared to have our hearts broken. We hope you’re sitting down because we’re about to check our list of the rumored Top 31 contestants for the folks who stole the show last night...or so we thought.

First major disappointment: Stephanie Hanvey doesn’t make it through! The spunky Jersey girl impressed the judges with her stage presence but her weak vocals might be her undoing further along. Better luck next time, Steph! You’re only 16, after all. Plenty of time to give Idol another shot.

In a similar boat as Stephanie is fellow teen wonder Austin Percario. The guy with the stage mom makes it to Hollywood but not much further. We kinda think Austin should try his hand at another Fox competition show where they allow boy bands. This kid’s a shoe-in for the American version of One Direction!

Unfortunately, Keith “Roar Like Katy Perry” London and Stephanie “Token Cheerleader” Petronelli aren’t on our Top 31 list either. The most surprising non-pick, however? That goes to Savion Wright. This guy looked to have all the ingredients to make a perfect American Idol: good look, strong voice, great back story. But somehow Savion leaves before the Top 31.

It isn’t all bad news, though. Marrialle Sellars, who started off the January 15 episode, supposedly makes it to the Top 31 as does Jill Jensen. For the boys, we’re expecting to see both Malcolm Allen and Sam Woolf in future rounds of the show. And that’s just from the first night!

What do you make of the news? Think a few might still make it, or is there just too much talent to take?
