American Idol contestant Ben Briley lends a country flavor to this year’s show and, as we well know, Idol loves itself a good country singer. With his guitar in hand and his piano skills set, Ben's a talented performer. So much so, that we've heard he makes it into the Top 31 for Season 13. (Not hard to believe after seeing his performance on the February 5 episode of Hollywood Week.)
Back during his audition in Atlanta, as aired during the January 23 episode of Idol, Ben sang a version of Amos Lee's "Arms of a Woman."
"Gumbo came to mind when I was listening to you," Harry Connick Jr said (as a compliment).
"You have kind of a nasally tone, and I kind of love it" added J.Lo.
So who is this baseball cap-lovin' singer? Our friends at American Idol Net say he's a public relations professional who also sings and writes music from his hometown of Gallatin, Tennessee, not far from his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University. In case you're wondering if this cowboy's found a misses, Ben's got plenty of photos from his brightly colored wedding to share.
Ben also looks to be a big fan of football, particularly of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Volunteers (which might explain that orange and purple wedding color scheme). Music, however, is how Ben devotes his YouTube channel where he has covers ranging from John Mayer to Elton John. He's also got several classics in his repertoire including "Carolina In My Mind" by James Taylor.
