We’ve reached the second week of American Idol and if last week's premiere was any indication, we're in for a phenomenal season! The show is already proving to be different from seasons past, as we’ve said goodbye to the judges’ squabbles and hello to Harry Connick, Jr! (Seriously, can that guy can’t get any more adorable? We don’t thinks so.)

Of course, the one thing that hasn’t changed are the numerous rounds of auditions. January 23’s episode finds the judges headed to Atlanta in hopes of tracking down the country’s next big superstar.

It’s here where Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry meet Jess Meuse. This modern day rocker really wowed with her own original number, “Blue-Eyed Lie.” Performing an original hit rather than a cover is a risky move, particularly when this is your one shot to impress the judges but Jess makes it happen! Way to go, girl!

Channeling a young Stevie Nicks, Jess has a magnetic stage presence that draws all three judges in and practically pulls the Golden Ticket toward her open hand. Welcome to Hollywood, Jess!

What do you think of Jess’ performance? Will she make it to the Top 31? Read our spoilers here!
